Monday, I had the honor of being invited to the Press Preview for the NEW Nordstrom The SoNo Collection in South Norwalk, CT. And let me tell you, it was lovely.
Nordstrom The SoNo Collection OPENS TOMORROW, Friday, October 11th at 10am. They are also celebrating their Nordstrom Night Out TONIGHT. It's open to the public - tickets are $100 and all proceeds go to benefiting Fairfield County's Community Foundation and the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. Lastly, there will be a Beauty Bash from 8-10am on Friday, prior to the store opening.

Nordstrom started out as a shoe shop in 1901. They have now become a full-fledged retail destination adorned with experiential shopping and dining.
NORDSTROM BEAUTY HAVEN
When I arrived, I was greeted by Nordstrom's PR staff that flew in from Seattle. They were kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. I was given a tour of the Beauty Department featuring more than 100+ beauty brands, 6,300 lipsticks in more than130+ shades and 1700 tubes of mascara in 100+ different types. All I can say is WOW! They also have 5 Beauty Boutiques within the Beauty Department, Atelier Cologne, Chanel, Diptyque, Jo Malone and Kiehl's. I also really like that they have a Now Trending area where they highlight hot trends that rotate out as soon as a new trend is of the moment, and a Mini Must Haves area - a curated selection of small versions of select products (larger than sample size), to highlight new trends, best sellers and noteworthy products. These minis allow consumers to experience new products without the three-to-six month commitment of the full-size versions. Amen!
Next I was escorted to my beauty appointment at Nordstrom's Beauty Haven - their NEWEST concept - where I received a pedicure at Base Coat, one of three beauty installations.
I love that the Base Coat products are plant-based and chemical free. While I don't always live the cleanest and greenest lifestyle, I like to cut back where I can. Now I don't have to worry about being exposed to harsh chemicals with my nails - because let's be honest, my nails are always polished.

MEDIA LUNCHEON | BAZILLE
The Press and Influencer Media Luncheon was a delight. The 'mocktails' were tasty and the food was divine. I loved the floor to ceiling windows that flooded the room with natural light.
I also enjoyed the open concept. I rather be immersed in the store, than secluded and shutoff.
Bazille is a stylish and comfortable full-service restaurant featuring a contemporary interpretation of bistro cuisine. The menu is bold in-flavor featuring appetizers, salads, sandwiches, brick-oven pizzas, entrees and house-made desserts. A full bar complements the menu with a well-chosen selection of handcrafted cocktails and wines from many regions. Customers can choose to sit in the dining room or enjoy a drink and light bites in the bar area overlooking the store. Located on level three

Customers can view style picks and have a conversation through the app and purchase directly through Nordstrom.com.
CERTIFIED SHOE FITTERS
In all shoe departments, their experts know what it takes for a perfect fit - even if your feet are two different sizes. They will go above and beyond and sell you two different sized shoes for each foot to make sure you have the proper fit. Of course, you will only be charged for one pair/size. Now that's what I call cutomer service.

I loved the fitting rooms - seriously though - they might have been one of my favorite things. First off, they have a monitor in your fitting room where you are able to let an attendant know that you need a new size or maybe just need help zipping a dress. This is a game changer, long gone are the days of frantically putting back on your clothes to flag down help or dash to grab a different size. Another fun fact about these beauties, they have adjustable light, so you can set the lighting and mood that suits your fancy. I mean, how many times have you nixed an item you tried on solely because the lighting was terrible?! I know I have.
These little gems are also free-floating and are dispersed intermittently throughout the store, making them more conveniently located and accessible.
SIZE INCLUSIVE MANNEQUINS
This makes me SO happy. I love that they have mannequins that look like REAL women of ALL shapes and sizes - thank you, Nordstrom. More stores need to adapt this mentality and translate it to their retail locations, ASAP.
