I am not even exaggerating when I say, 'I think I lived in Charleston in another lifetime' - it just feels like home. The cobblestone streets are lined with colorful buildings and vibrant personalities. While the hustle and bustle of the rich Historic District is complimented by sleepy willows, palm trees and the Atlantic. Everything in Charleston is just MORE - including the people. People with whom are some of the nicest strangers I have ever met.
My favorite part of my recent trip - aside from seeing my family - had to have been the inn in which we stayed. Kings Courtyard Inn is the standard for hospitality and history, wrapped in a chic little bow. Not only did they go above and beyond the entire trip, but they take PETS! Yep, you read that right - they're an animal friendly establishment. Since we were in Charleston due to a family emergency, we had our family pet with us - a Boxer named Duke - and, it was quite hard to find a *nice* hotel that would let him stay. After a little research, my Mom called up the KCI to see if they could take us - they squeezed us in with early check-in upon arrival and late check-out for our departure day (to accommodate our flight schedules). To boot, they had gourmet treats and ceramic water/food bowls for Duke, as well as cheese and wine tasting at night, complimentary breakfast from Kitchen 208, and water bottles in the courtyards. What was even better? The restored guest suites that look like they are straight out of a Serena & Lily showroom - be still my beating heart! But, I have to say, the real shining stars of this inn are the staff members - big shout out to Jessica and Caroline - you guys were ah-ma-zing!
So all in all, this gem, which is also a Historical Hotel of America, is a favorite of mine - I would 150% stay there, again! Book it, babes!
TRAVEL TIP
Take Uber EVERYWHERE in Charleston - we forwent our car, because it is 10X easier to walk or Uber. PLUS Ubers take like .5 seconds to arrive there. Hey New York, want to catch-up to those arrival times, please and thank you?
